Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about SitePx.

General

What is SitePx?

SitePx is a Shopify app that audits, optimises, and monitors your store's SEO. It covers products, blogs, pages, images, schema markup, and technical health.

Who is SitePx for?

Shopify store owners, marketing managers, and SEO specialists who want to improve organic search visibility without developer help.

Does SitePx work with all Shopify plans?

Yes. SitePx works with all Shopify plans — Basic, Shopify, Advanced, and Plus.

Will SitePx slow down my store?

No. SitePx runs in the Shopify admin, not on your storefront. Schema injection via the theme embed is lightweight and doesn't affect page speed.

Scores and Audits

Why is my SEO score different from other tools?

Every tool uses different criteria and weightings. SitePx focuses on actionable issues specific to Shopify stores. Our scores weight factors by their actual impact on search rankings.

Why does a check show “Not checked”?

The check hasn't been run yet. Run an SEO audit or optimise the specific item to evaluate all checks.

How often should I run an SEO audit?

Weekly is recommended for active stores. Monthly is sufficient for stores that don't update products frequently.

Why did my score go down after making changes?

Score changes can happen when:

  • New issues are detected that weren't checked before.
  • You've added new products or pages that need optimisation.
  • Google's requirements have been updated.

Content and Optimisation

Can I undo changes SitePx makes?

Yes. All changes are versioned. Go to the item's detail page and use the version history to roll back to any previous version.

Does SitePx change my product prices or inventory?

No. SitePx only modifies SEO-related fields: titles, descriptions, meta tags, alt text, and tags. Pricing, inventory, and variants are never touched.

Can I review changes before they're published?

Yes. Use the draft workflow: save suggestions as drafts, review them, then apply when ready. Bulk operations also have a review step.

Why do generated descriptions sometimes sound generic?

Configure your Brand Voice in Settings with specific guidelines, key phrases, and vocabulary. The more detail you provide, the more distinctive the output.

Schema and Theme

Why do I need to enable a theme embed for schema?

SitePx injects JSON-LD structured data into your theme's HTML. This requires the app embed to be active in your theme editor so the code can be rendered on your storefront. See Schema Markup for full details.

What if my theme already has schema markup?

SitePx detects existing schema and warns you about conflicts. We recommend using either your theme's schema or SitePx's, not both, to avoid confusing search engines.

Will schema changes break my theme?

No. Schema is added as invisible JSON-LD in the page head. It doesn't affect your theme's appearance or functionality.

Google Search Console

Why do I need to verify my site for GSC?

Google requires verification to prove you own the site before sharing its search data. SitePx provides a verification wizard with DNS and meta tag options. See Google Search Console for setup instructions.

Why isn't GSC showing any data?

GSC data is delayed by 2–3 days. If you've just connected, wait 48 hours. If it's been longer, verify you selected the correct property and that it has data in GSC directly.

Can SitePx modify my Google Search Console settings?

No. SitePx has read-only access to your GSC data. We never modify your Search Console configuration.

Credits and Billing

What happens when I run out of credits?

You won't be able to perform AI-powered actions until you add more credits. Upgrade your plan or purchase a top-up in Settings → Billing. See Credits & Billing for details.

Do unused credits roll over?

Credits from your monthly plan allocation reset each billing cycle. Top-up credits don't expire.
