Configure Each Schema Type
Detailed configuration guide for each of the ten schema types supported by SitePx.
Breadcrumb
Adds breadcrumb navigation to search results, showing the path users take through your site — for example: Home → Collection → Product.
Breadcrumb schema is auto-generated from your Shopify navigation structure. No configuration is needed beyond enabling the toggle.
Required fields: None (auto-populated).
Pitfall: If your navigation is flat (no hierarchy), breadcrumbs won't add much value. They work best when your store has a clear category structure.
Collection
Adds CollectionPage schema to your collection/category pages, showing the collection name and description in search results.
Required fields: None (auto-populated from your Shopify collection data).
Pitfall: Make sure your collections have descriptions filled in for best results. Collections without descriptions produce incomplete schema that may not qualify for rich results.
Product
The most important schema type for e-commerce. Product schema includes:
- Name, description, and brand
- Price and currency
- Availability (in stock, out of stock)
- Images
- SKU
- Reviews and ratings (if available)
Required fields: None (auto-populated from your Shopify product data).
Pitfall: Ensure your products have prices and images set. Missing data creates schema warnings that can prevent rich results from appearing.
Product Merchant Listing
Enhanced product schema designed for Google Shopping results. It builds on top of standard Product schema by adding shipping details, returns policy, and merchant information.
Required fields:
- Shipping policy URL
- Returns policy URL
- Merchant name
Note
LocalBusiness
For stores with a physical location. LocalBusiness schema includes:
- Business name
- Address
- Phone number
- Opening hours
- Geo-coordinates
Required fields: All fields must be filled in manually. This data is not available from Shopify automatically.
Pitfall: Only enable LocalBusiness schema if you have a physical store. Incorrect or fabricated address data can lead to Google penalties.
Article
Applied to individual blog posts. Article schema includes:
- Headline
- Author
- Date published and date modified
- Featured image
- Publisher
Required fields: None (auto-populated from your Shopify blog post data).
Pitfall: Ensure blog posts have author names and featured images for complete schema. Posts missing these fields produce warnings.
Blog
Applied to the blog listing/index page. Blog schema includes the blog name, description, and URL.
Required fields: None (auto-populated).
Blog schema works alongside Article schema on individual posts. Enable both for complete blog coverage.
Organisation
Company-level schema for your homepage. Organisation schema includes:
- Company name
- Logo
- Social media profiles
- Contact information
Required fields:
- Logo URL
- Social profile URLs
- Contact email or phone
Pitfall: The logo must be a valid, accessible URL. Do not use a Shopify CDN resized URL — use the original, full-size image URL.
WebSite
Site-level schema for your homepage. WebSite schema enables the search box in Google results (sitelinks searchbox) and includes:
- Site name
- URL
- Search action
Required fields: None (auto-configured based on your store URL).
Note
VideoObject
For pages with embedded videos. VideoObject schema includes:
- Video title
- Description
- Thumbnail URL
- Upload date
- Duration
Required fields: You must provide video metadata manually or ensure videos use standard embed formats (YouTube, Vimeo).
Pitfall: Videos embedded as custom HTML may not be detected automatically. Use standard embed codes from YouTube or Vimeo for reliable detection.
