Page Optimiser

The Page Optimiser covers your Shopify pages (About, Contact, custom pages) that are not products or blog posts.

What it checks

  • Meta title and description — presence, length, uniqueness
  • H1 heading — present, relevant
  • Content quality — thin content detection, readability
  • Internal links — both inbound and outbound
  • Image alt text — on any embedded images
  • Broken links — links pointing to 404 pages

Common page issues

Thin content

Many Shopify stores have sparse About or Contact pages. Search engines favour pages with substantial, useful content. Consider expanding these pages with relevant information.

Missing meta descriptions

Shopify does not always auto-generate meta descriptions for custom pages. SitePx can generate appropriate meta descriptions.

Fixing page issues

Handle theme-embedded content

Theme-embedded content (like custom sections) may need manual editing in the Shopify theme editor.

Note

Pages with dynamic theme sections may show different content to the optimiser than what customers see. If a page's content is mostly rendered by theme sections, you may need to optimise directly in your theme.

Consumes credits

Page optimisation consumes 1–3 credits per page.
